Description
Squirrel Hill Farmhouse is a sandstone "brick" farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century but was largely rebuilt and refaced with thin "bricks" around 1800. It features a stone slate roof with saddlestones at the gable ends, which have caveto moulding that serves as capping for the kneelers. The south-west kneeler is inscribed with the date 1687. The farmhouse has two and three light framed square mullioned windows, which are mostly enlargements of original four or five light windows. There is a squared jamb doorway topped with a stone gable hood. Additionally, there is a lower cottage extension that also includes square mullioned windows, along with a rear outshut.
