Description

Shay Farmhouse and its integral barn date from the late 18th century, or around 1800. The farmhouse is set back from the lane and constructed of sandstone, appearing as brickwork. A dry stone wall extends along the east end, following a longhouse pattern. It has a stone slate roof with shaped kneelers to the gable ends. The front facade has three windows, each with two lights and a square mullion design. A plain doorway is defined by its squared jamb, and corniced chimneys are present.
