Description

Highfield Farmhouse and integral barn is a late 18th century building located on the north side of Alderscholes Lane in Thornton. It features two storeys constructed from thin sandstone "bricks" with flush quoins. The stone slate roof has saddlestones and prominent kneelers. On the left side, there are four light square mullion windows, while above a modern glazed door, there is a two light window, and a small two light window is situated above a semi-circular arched barn portal that has been adapted to a window. Additionally, there is a small round arched light to the left of the doorway.
