Description
Nos 3 to 13 on Rooley Lane in Newhall, built in the early 19th century, form a row of cottages constructed from sandstone "brick" and raised on basements. They feature stone slate roofs with modillion brackets at the eaves. Number 3 may be an earlier build, distinguished by its shaped kneelers. The cottages have three small paned first floor windows set in squared surrounds, while the ground floor typically features two light square mullion windows and squared jamb doorways. The remaining cottages have sill bands and similar two light square mullion windows in squared surrounds, along with comparable doorways. This group is included for its collective architectural value.
