Description
Nos 2 to 10 Ann Place is a terrace of houses built around 1830-1840, made of ashlar sandstone and consisting of two storeys. The terrace features a plain frieze band and a moulded eaves cornice, topped with a low pitch slate roof and corniced chimneys. Nos 4, 8, and 10 project slightly forward, displaying three bay symmetrical fronts with blocking courses above the cornice and semi-circular block end dies. The other houses have two window fronts, with ground floor windows framed in splayed based architrave surrounds that extend down to the plinth. The doorways are also splayed eaved architraves with cornices supported by finely curved long console brackets. The shared positions of Nos 8 and 10 include a central segmental carriage archway flanked by pilasters. Dwarf sandstone "brick" walls with rounded copings connect monolith corniced and pyramid capped gate piers.
