Description
Ivy Cottage is a building that likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is two storeys high and constructed mainly of coursed, squared rubble. The main south front features two windows, with 19th-century canted three-light bay windows below. Above these, there are a four-light window on the left and a three-light window on the right, both with chamfered mullions. The original central doorway has been built up, but a dripmould extends across from the roof of one bay to the other. The roof is made of stone slabs and has moulded kneelers, with one kneeler located about three-quarters towards the edge.
At the rear, there is an extension that appears to be largely or wholly original, following the slope of the roof. The west end includes a lean-to section on the ground storey, which has three windows in canted reveals: two-light windows with chamfered mullions and a middle window with a dripmould extending over the doorway to the right, along with a smaller window on the right. All windows have been modernised. The doorway features a Tudor-type head and a door with four moulded panels, with the top two being glazed.
