Description

This is a pair of K6 telephone kiosks installed in 1937, designed in 1935 by Giles Gilbert Scott. They were made by MacFarlane & Co Ltd at the Saracen Foundry in Glasgow. The kiosks are constructed from cast-iron, wood, and glass, and are set back-to-back on a central island. They feature margin glazing on the windows and wooden doors, with light opals below the panel that have embossed unperforated crowns and domed roofs. The easternmost kiosk has had its opals replaced with green "Phonecard" panels, and its brass handle has been substituted with a chrome-plated one.
