Description
This is a row of early 19th-century wool warehouses located at 8 to 24 Quebec Street. This building type is notable as one largely rebuilt in the mid to later 19th century. Number 8 is constructed of sandstone which has a texture that resembles brickwork. It has two storeys, and a four-bay front with two low gables framing the central two round-headed windows, which sit on a sill band. These are flanked by windows with flat lintels. There are two segmental archways, key stoned, on the ground floor, with windows on either side. The remaining warehouses in the row are three-storey structures. They feature closely set windows and flat lintels, often flanking small access hatches or with hatches to the right of the windows. Flat lintel archways are also present. The roofs are covered in stone slate and feature paired brackets along the eaves.
