Description

This is a terrace of ten improved workers' houses located at 1-10 Titus Street, Saltaire, and completed around 1868. Designed by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt, the terrace forms part of the wider Saltaire model village.

The houses are constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a Welsh slate roof. They are arranged as two storeys, with each house featuring two bays. The end houses project slightly, each with a gabled feature. All houses have round-arched and archivolted entrances with stepped reveals and fanlights, and round-arched windows on the ground floor. The first floor windows of the end houses are arranged as a triple group with round-arched lights; the remaining first-floor windows are square-headed. A sill band runs along the first floor. Stone brackets support the guttering. The return elevations are also two bays wide.
