Description
The gate piers, dating from around 1707, are located in the park approximately 266 yards southeast of the south front of Esholt Hall. These two tall gate piers are made of ashlar and feature cornices. They currently stand in open grassland but are aligned with the original avenue to the south, indicating they were part of the main approach to the estate. The piers are widely spaced, suggesting there may have been an inner pair, and each has arched apertures in its shafts.
