Description

This is a circa 1800 block forming part of Esholt Hall Home Farm, located on the south side of the farmyard. The building is an L-plan arrangement, incorporating a stable, tack room, hay loft, and a cow shed wing. It is constructed of sandstone, which is described as appearing like brick, with a stone slate roof and a gable end facing the yard. The main block is three stories high. The top floor features square openings. Irregular windows and hatches are present on the first floor, while the ground floor has squared jamb doorways and waggon arches. An external stone staircase is located on the west side. The south gable is topped by a corniced chimney, and the north gable features a pedimented bellcot. The cow shed wing is of similar construction, with small, square windows with lintels. External steps lead to the east end of the eastern cow shed.
