Description
Nos 41 to 47 on St George's Place, built around 1846, are part of a modest terrace development that is contemporary with Elizabeth Street. These two-storey houses are constructed from sandstone and feature long and short quoins at Nos 41 and 47, with No 47 being the taller house that has a four-bay front, while the others have two bays. The houses have shaped brackets supporting the flat eaves of their slate roofs and corniced chimneys. The windows are sash with revealed ashlar lintels. The doorways include archivolt arched fanlights with keys, supported by consoles that have broken entablatures and bracketed cornices above. No 47 has a plain doorway at the front but features the main entrance on the return elevation. These buildings are included for their group value.
