Description

This is a row of six cottages, numbered 16 to 22 Carr Bottom Road, dating from the mid to late 18th century. The cottages were built using sandstone that appears like brick, with flush quoins, and have stone slate roofs with prominent kneelers on the gable ends. Each cottage has one window on each floor. Most windows are 19th-century casements, although cottages 16 and 22 retain original two-light square mullioned windows. The doorways have surrounds made of squared stone.
