Description
This is a row of six cottages, numbered 1 to 11, located on Town Lane, Idle. The buildings incorporate elements from the 17th century but were largely rebuilt and extended in the late 18th century. They form an “L” shaped block and are constructed of rendered sandstone, appearing like brickwork. The roofs are covered in stone slates, with corniced chimneys. The windows are square mullioned, with two or three lights, and have squared surrounds. Number 11 features a notable 17th-century chamfered doorway with an ogee-shaped lintel, reminiscent of designs found at the Old Chapel. The other doorways have squared jambs.
