Description

Glen Esk Farmhouse, with an attached barn now incorporated into the dwelling, was built in the late 17th century. The building is constructed of dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys with an attic, featuring three first-floor windows. A central doorway has moulded jambs and a shaped lintel, above which is a circular window. Double-chamfered mullion windows are present on each floor; those to the left have six lights, while those to the right have four. A drip mould with decorative terminals runs along the ground floor. External features include kneelers and coping, and a central stack. The gable has a chamfered, Tudor-arched doorway, a four-light window to the first floor, and a blocked attic window. The barn has a segmental-arched doorway and inserted bow windows.
