Description
A terrace of improved workers' houses located in Saltaire, completed by 1861. The terrace, numbered 10 to 16 Constance Street, was designed by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt as part of the Saltaire model village. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a Welsh slate roof. Each house is two storeys high and has two bays, with the end houses projecting slightly and featuring gables. The entrances have fanlights set in stepped reveals. The ground-floor windows are round-arched and archivolted, while the first-floor windows are square-headed, except for the end houses which have a triple group of round-arched lights. A first-floor sill band is present. Shaped stone brackets support the gutter. Due to the sloping ground, there is a change in level between numbers 12 and 13.
