Description
Old Wheel Farmhouse is a row of cottages that has been converted into a farmhouse, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed from deeply coursed, squared gritstone and features a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. Each opening has deep stone lintels, and the windows have projecting sills. To the left of each bay, there is a 19th-century part-glazed door adorned with Gothic glazing bars, with a window to the right of each door on both floors. All windows are three-light casements with plain glazing bars, except for the second and third bays on the ground floor, which have taller two-light windows with Gothic glazing. The farmhouse has two ashlar stacks at the ridge and an end stack to the right, all featuring two plain bands. There are farm buildings attached to the left, but they are not of special interest.
