Description
The Packhorse bridge over the River Loxley at Croft House is a Grade II listed structure, likely built in the 18th century and restored in 1864. It is constructed of coursed squared stone, with the parapet dating from the 19th century and featuring vertical tooling. The bridge has a single segmental arch that spans a wide area, highlighted by a raised keystone inscribed with the date "1864" and the initials "FS". An ashlar band runs along the bridge, and the parapet rises to a peak in the center, with a chamfered top. The causeway is paved with setts. This bridge was damaged during the Sheffield flood caused by the bursting of the Dale Dike Reservoir but was restored in its original location.
