Description
No. 13 Broomgrove Road is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. The exterior features ashlar and coursed squared stone, topped with a hipped slate roof that rises to a flat section with a wooden balustrade. There are two stone ridge stacks, a plinth, a string course, and a sill band, along with deep eaves. The building has two storeys plus attics and displays a three-window range of 12-pane sash windows, with the central window featuring an eared architrave. Above this is a box dormer with a plain sash window. The entrance is marked by a pedimented Greek Doric portico that includes sidelights and a half-glazed door with an overlight. Each side of the entrance has a plain sash window. The right side of the building has four 12-pane sashes above and four plain sashes below, while the left side has three windows on each floor.
Inside, the property features moulded cornices in the hallway and stairwell, as well as a cantilevered stone stair with an ornate cast-iron balustrade and a ramped handrail. There is also a round-headed stair window.
