Description
The George Woofindin Almshouses, built in 1899, consist of a pair of almshouses funded by George Woofindin. They are constructed from red brick, featuring moulded brick and ashlar dressings, and have a plain tile roof with a quadruple coped ridge stack. The building has a plinth, a first floor band, and rebated eaves. It is two storeys high and has a two-window range, with two gabled through-eaves dormers that contain three-light stone mullioned cross casements. Below these dormers is a central canted and hipped double bay window, which also has two three-light stone mullioned cross casements. On either side of the bay window, there is a round-arched doorway with a hoodmould, leading to a half-glazed door and fanlight. The interior has not been inspected.
