Description
This is a late 19th-century sewer gas lamp located at the junction of Upper Albert Road and Rushdale Road in Sheffield. It was made by the Webb Lamp Company and is constructed from cast iron, painted green. The lamp features a conical shape with a domed cap, supported by curved brackets at the top of a fluted round column that has a bulged foot and ladder rests. The lamp stands on a round pedestal with a plinth, and on opposite sides, there are moulded panels displaying the maker's name. At the time of the survey, the lamp was complete and in working order.
