Description

The Oaks Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse, likely refaced in the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed, squared gritstone with a stone slate roof. The original plan was for two rooms, with access from a continuous outshut at the rear. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has large quoins. It features two three-light square-faced mullion windows on each floor, all displaced to the left and containing 20th-century small-pane casements. A band runs along the first floor. A central ashlar stack is present, with a shouldered and corniced design. At the rear, there is a 20th-century boarded door beneath a gritstone lintel, alongside two three-light double-chamfered mullion windows with hood moulds. Between these windows is a single light with a square-faced surround. A garage extension, of no particular architectural interest, is located on the right return.
