Description
Nos. 83 and 85 on Infirmary Road is a house, now serving as a medical and dental centre, built around 1840. It has undergone alterations in the late 19th and late 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features a hipped slate roof with two ridge stacks. There is a plinth and a first floor band. The structure is two storeys high and has a three-window range. Most windows are plain sashes with brick flat arches. The flanking windows are set in slightly projecting two-storey bays. A central painted Ionic portico with steps leads to a 19th-century half-glazed double door and overlight, which is flanked by single windows. Each return has two slightly projecting bays with a single window on each floor. The right return includes a central 20th-century ground floor window, while the left return has more 20th-century windows. At the rear, there is a round-headed stair window. The interior has not been inspected.
