Description
The Ski Lodge, formerly known as the Lodge to the Infirmary, is a building located on Infirmary Road in Sheffield. It was constructed around 1793 to 1797, likely designed by J Rawsthorne, and has undergone some alterations in the late 20th century. The building is made of ashlar stone and features gabled and hipped slate roofs with a central coped ridge stack. It is a single-storey structure with a T-plan layout and a three-window range. The front of the building has a projecting center that includes an open pediment and a central door from the 20th century, flanked by two single 8-pane sash windows. Above the door, there is a half-round glazing bar window. On either side of the central section, there are similar single windows set back in the wings. The returns of the building have round-headed recesses, each containing a 2-light casement window. At the rear, there is a small lean-to projection and a 20th-century door to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
