Description
The gateway and screen wall at the west lodge to Norfolk Park were built in 1841 for the 12th Duke of Norfolk. They are constructed from coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings. The central feature consists of a pair of square gate piers that have moulded plinths and capitals, which are topped with pierced pyramidal finials. The screen wall is adorned with moulded coping and a strapwork parapet. On either side of the main gateway, there are pedestrian gateways that also feature a pair of square piers with moulded caps. These structures were built when the former manorial park was transformed into a public park.
