Description

Fulwood Hall is a house with attached outbuildings, dating to 1620. It may incorporate elements of a 16th-century building, with later 19th and 20th-century additions and alterations. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and has stone slate roofs. It features multiple gable, ridge, and side wall stacks.

The main block has a plinth, sill and lintel bands, and coped gables with kneelers. It features a four-light mullioned window, a three-light mullioned window, and a datestone above the door. A five-light cross-mullioned window sits below, with a simple stone doorcase on the right and a three-light mullioned window on the left, complemented by a cellar light. A projecting left wing includes a three-light mullioned window above and a five-light cross-mullioned window below, with a two-light cellar window beneath. All these windows have chamfered mullions. Additional windows are found in the return angle and on the right return, with a particularly notable early 20th-century flat-roofed square porch with a five-light mullioned window replacing a window, and a door with a three-light mullioned window to the left.

To the right, a cross range presents two square chamfered windows in the gable and two smaller windows below. An outbuilding range extends at a right angle, featuring a higher building with four casements and a lower two-storey carriage house with an elliptical arched carriage opening containing recessed chip-carved doors. Interior features include two ground-floor rooms with fielded panelling dating to the 17th and 18th centuries, a Tudor arched stone doorway, and a stone fireplace with a moulded lintel.
