Description
This building is an outbuilding located approximately 40 metres southeast of Thurcroft Hall. It is a coach-house with a hayloft above, now used as a workshop, dating from the late 18th century. The structure is made of coursed, dressed sandstone and features a pantile roof. It is two storeys high and consists of a single cell. The building has large quoins and a quoined segmentally-arched carriage entrance that is now covered by later garage doors. Above this entrance, there is a large doorway with rounded arrises to the stone surround and an overlight set in a triangular pediment, which includes V-shaped tracery. A band runs across the gable, supported by shaped kneelers and topped with ashlar copings. On the left side, there is an attached lean-to, which is not of special interest, that partly covers a first-floor opening; its sill has been cut away and the upper part has been bricked up.
