Description
The remains of a medieval coffin, likely from the 15th century, are located adjacent to the south wall of the Church of St. Alban in Wickersley. This coffin is made of magnesian limestone and is a tapered, full-size design that has been hollowed out for a corpse and head. Most of the south side of the coffin is broken away. It is possibly the coffin of Roger de Wickersley, as his 15th-century grave slab is preserved in the central aisle of the church.
