Description

MALTBY YEWS SK58NE 8/75 Yews Farmhouse 13.11.59 (formerly listed as The Yews) GV II Farmhouse. Mid C18. Ashlar limestone, stone slate eaves courses to pantile roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with extended wing to rear left. Plinth. 5 nosed steps to central glazed door in rusticated panel with cornice. Ground-floor sill band links flanking 1-storey canted bay windows having sashes with glazing bars and fluted pilaster at the angles. 1st floor: band; apron and projecting sill to central Venetian window the central light with keyed archivolt the outer lights blind. Sill band links to flanking tripartite windows having sashes with glazing bars divided by wooden pilaster mullions beneath keyed flat arches Shaped kneelers, gable copings and corniced ashlar end stacks. Left return: wing has window in ashlar door surround; horizontally-sliding sashes with glazing bars. Lower 2-storey extension to wing has kneelers and gable copings.
