Description

Haven Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmhouse, with an older range to the rear likely dating from the 18th century, and has been altered over time. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed squared limestone with a pantile roof. It is two storeys high with three windows to the first floor. A parallel range extends to the rear, projecting beyond the left return. The front features a central, part-glazed, panelled door with a four-pane overlight, set within an ashlar surround that includes a plinth, projecting sills, a dripstone, and a bracketed cornice. Flanking the door are three-light casement windows with glazing bars, also in ashlar surrounds with projecting sills and dripstones. Similar first-floor windows, without dripstones, are present, with the central window being of two lights. An eaves band, shaped kneelers, and gable copings are visible. The farmhouse has corniced stone end stacks and a matching ridge stack to the left of the door. A rear projection beyond the left return includes a French window to the right of a three-light casement on each floor, and features a steeply-pitched roof and end stack. The rear elevation has some horizontally-sliding sash windows and rebuilt ridge and end stacks. Attached farmbuildings are not considered of special interest.
