Description

The premises of Richard Law Fruit Shops and the flat above is a shop with a dwelling over, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a pantile roof. The building has three storeys and three bays. The brick plinth is interrupted by a 20th-century two-windowed shop front that includes a central panelled door. On the first floor, there are 20th-century casements with glazing bars and top-hung upper lights set in original openings, which have projecting stone sills and rubbed-brick flat arches, with a blind central window. The second-floor windows are shorter and styled similarly. The building has later brickwork and stacks, with the right side adjoining an adjacent property, while the left gable has been rebuilt. There is an adjoining lean-to property on the left that is not of special interest.
