Description
Manor Farm House is a farmhouse dating from around 1800, with a later addition. It features cement-rendered walls and roofs made of graduated slate and Welsh slate. The building has two and three storeys and displays a symmetrical arrangement of windows, with two on each side of the first floor.
The earlier part of the house, located to the right, has a double part-glazed door set in a wooden doorcase, topped by a consoled cornice, next to a sixteen-pane sash window in a flush wooden architrave with a projecting stone sill. The first-floor windows are similar and are positioned beside a mid-floor stair-window that also has a sash with glazing bars. The second-floor windows mirror the design of the stair-window. The gables feature shaped ashlar kneelers and chamfered copings, with a truncated end stack on the left and a rebuilt brick end stack on the right.
To the left, a two-storey wing includes a canted, one-storey bay window with ashlar surrounds, containing sashes with eight and twelve panes. Above this bay window are a sixteen-pane sash and an eight-pane sash, both styled like the other windows. The wing also has shaped kneelers, square-cut gable copings, and a yellow-brick end stack on the left.
The house is included for its group value.
