Description

Manor House is a house that likely dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century and has undergone significant alterations. It features roughcast walls and a 20th-century cement-tile roof. The building is two storeys high with attics and has four windows on the first floor. There is a wing to the rear left and additional structures to the rear right.

The central entrance consists of a part-glazed door set in a chamfered surround, topped by a slated canopy supported by arch-braced posts, which covers a bay-window projection on the left. To the right of the entrance, there is another part-glazed door with a chamfered, pointed arch. On the right side, two 3-light casements with chamfered surrounds are located beneath render and leaded lights. The first floor has 2-light casements, with a 3-light window positioned above the right-hand door. The roof is steeply pitched, featuring a central ridge stack and an end stack to the right.

At the rear, the main range shows remnants of a moulded square window on the upper floor, along with remains of a 3-light double-chamfered window in the rear-right addition.

Inside, there is a chamfered, arched doorway leading into the rear-right addition. The ground-floor room to the left boasts a good beamed ceiling with a chamfered transverse beam and bressumer, while a massive central stack has no original features visible. A timber wall post in the roadside wall may be original. An unusual curving flight of stone steps leads from the first floor to the attic, which has a lime-ash floor and principal-rafter trusses.
