Description
White House Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed, squared magnesian limestone and features stone slate and pantile roofs. The building has two storeys and an attic, consisting of three bays with a low outshut at the rear. To the left, there is a two-storey, one-bay addition that matches the main house in style.
The main house has large raised quoins that are now painted. The central entrance features a four-panel door set in a raised and bonded ashlar surround, which is topped by a 20th-century armorial plaque. Flanking the entrance are canted bay windows that were added later. On the first floor, there are three sash windows with glazing bars, each set in raised ashlar surrounds. The roof displays shaped kneelers and gable copings, with brick stacks at the ends. The addition on the left has matching quoins and windows, as well as a coped parapet and a pantiled roof.
