Description
NORTON SELBY ROAD SE 51 NE 2/90 Bridge across Ings Dike approximately 200 metres to south of Norton Common Farm II Bridge. 1832-33. Horizontally-tooled, deeply-coursed magnesian limestone. Single span. Rusticated segmental arch set in a curve and springing from vertical abutment walls. Band above arch links to projecting end piers of parapet which has domed copings. Best of several small bridges that are probably original to the Doncaster-Selby road as turnpiked following an act of 6th June, 1832.
