Description
The curtain wall surrounding the grounds of Bramwith Hall, including the gatepiers at the northern pedestrian entrance, dates from the early 19th century. It features coursed squared limestone facing the road and red brick facing the garden, topped with ashlar copings. The wall runs along Hall Lane to the south-west of Bramwith Hall, with an altered vehicle entrance opposite the house. It curves north-east to line the south side of the driveway leading to the house and its associated farm buildings.
At the north-west side of the house, there are two gatepiers with a 20th-century wall and gate set between them. The wall stands approximately 2 meters high and has thin copings that rise towards the gatepiers, which are set forward. These gatepiers feature plain blocking stones and large ball finials, flanking a 20th-century wrought-iron gate set in a rendered-brick panel.
The later section of the wall extending south-east from the specified location is not of special interest.
