Description
The stocks, located approximately 30 metres north-east of the Rock public house on Well Hill Road in Green Moor, are of uncertain date. They feature stone sides and a bottom rail, with a wooden top rail. The left post is broken, and both posts have grooved inner sides designed to hold the rails, which have four notches. A plaque on the back wall of the stone enclosure states that these old stocks were originally near Peck Pond and were erected by the people of this parish to commemorate the crowning of King George VI on May 12th, 1937.
