Description
Catshaw Cross is a historic cross located approximately 40 metres west of the junction with Catshaw Lane in Hazlehead, Penistone. The date of the cross is uncertain, but it features a square post made of millstone grit with chamfered sides and a rounded top. There is graffiti on the front that reads '1853'. The stone was replaced around 1980 and is now situated in a dry stone wall on the boundary of the parishes of Penistone and Dunford.
