Description
This raised graveslab, dating from around 1750, is located approximately 15 metres east of the chancel of the Church of All Saints. It is made of sandstone and features simple moulding along the edge, divided lengthways with arched decoration at the head of each half. The left side commemorates John Whitwham of Low Hill, who died on 19th December 1750 at the age of 53, and his wife Ellen, who passed away on 10th December 1755. The right side is dedicated to Sarah, the wife of James Whitwham of New Mill, who died in 1751 at the age of 22, and to Sarah, the daughter of James Whitwham, who died on 3rd October 1753 at just 9 weeks old.
