Description
The former stable range, located approximately 10 metres west of Huthwaite Farmhouse, is a building from the early 19th century, possibly designed by the architect John Carr, who also worked on Huthwaite Hall. It is constructed from coursed squared stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of seven bays, with quoins at the corners.
On the ground floor, there is an archivolted arcade supported by ashlar piers and voussoirs, with the 5th and 6th bays blocked. The first floor includes doorways on both the left and right sides, as well as a broad central doorway, all framed in stone with plinth and impost blocks. Additionally, there are four square pitching holes and the roof is hipped.
