The Granary

The Granary is a granary with an attached cartshed that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 18th century, with a later addition of the cartshed at the rear. The building is constructed from coursed rubble sandstone and features a stone slate roof. It is a single storey with an attic and consists of three bays, with the single-storey cartshed forming a wing to the rear left. The structure has large quoins and a central quoined doorway with a deep lintel. There are flanking casements, with the one to the right positioned where a quoined doorway would typically be, featuring a cut-out soffit to the lintel. The building also has shaped kneelers and chamfered gable copings. The end windows have been altered, and there are infilled openings on the rear cartshed. The Granary is included for its group value.
