Description
The barn at Tyers Hall Farm, located approximately 10 metres south-west of the farmhouse, is likely from the late 17th century. It is constructed of roughly-coursed sandstone rubble and has a Welsh slate roof. The barn is two storeys high but is now used as a single storey and consists of three bays. The corners of the building feature quoins.
On the side facing away from the house, there is a blocked central doorway with a chamfered quoined surround. To the right of this doorway is a blocked raised doorway that indicates an earlier, larger opening. To the left of the centre, there is a mid-height opening with a blocked earlier opening to its right, located at the eaves. Farther left, a blocked window with a triangular head is present, along with a small double-chamfered light above it.
At the rear of the barn, there is an enlarged cart entrance now supported by a steel girder. To the right, there are blocked quoined doorways on both the ground and first floors, as well as a blocked double-chamfered window. The left gable features another blocked double-chamfered window.
Inside, there are no remains of the former first floor. The barn contains two principal rafter trusses with raking struts and double purlins, along with an inserted later truss at one end. The attached farm buildings are not of special interest.
