Description
The Lion's Head drinking fountain, dated 1890, is located in the north garden wall of number 4 on Darton Road in Cawthorne. This drinking fountain features a cast-iron plate set into a stone wall, with an embossed lion's head above a plunger. A cup is attached to the plate by a chain. The plate is placed in a recess that has a quoined rock-faced surround and an ogee head. This fountain is noted as the best surviving example of the four of this type found in Cawthorne Village.
