Description

41 York Street is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is built from pinkish-brown brick in English garden wall bond and features a cast tile roof. The house has two storeys and a lobby entry plan, consisting of four bays. The third bay contains a four-panel door set under a cambered arch. On the ground floor, there are 16-pane sash windows with stone sills. A stepped three-course band runs along the first floor. The first floor features three unequally-hung 9-pane sash windows, also with stone sills, and a further blocked opening, all beneath painted flat arches. The eaves are stepped and dentilled, and there are ridge and end stacks. A range to the right is of no particular interest.
