Description

Chestnut Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later 20th-century additions to the right side and rear. It is constructed of whitewashed brick with a pantile roof. The house is two storeys high, with four windows on the first floor. A 20th-century entrance is located off-centre. There is a blocked window with a cambered head. The ground floor has two 16-pane sash windows, and one Yorkshire sash window with glazing bars. The first floor has three sash windows with glazing bars, and one replacement 12-pane casement window. A dentilled cornice runs along the top of the building. A two-storey carport, of no particular architectural interest, has been added to the right side. End and ridge stacks are present. The building is partly included on the list for group value considerations.
