Description
The stables, wall, and gate-piers at The Whitehouse date from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of pale brown brick with red brick and ashlar dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof over the stables. A continuous plinth runs along the wall, stables, and gate-piers. The stables are two storeys high and consist of three bays. The central bay projects and features a pediment with a recessed panel enclosed by a red gauged brick round arch. Above this is a circular window with radial glazing bars set in a red brick surround. The outer bays have 20th-century garage doors. The wall next to the stables has pilaster buttressing on the left and in the center, along with ashlar coping. The gate-piers to the right of the stables have ashlar caps and are adjacent to the left side of The Whitehouse. This structure is included partly for its group value.
