Description
NUMBER 62 AND ATTACHED RAILINGS
This house, dating to circa 1860, is now used as an office. It is constructed of brick with a slate roof. The building is three storeys high and has two bays. Upper-floor windows are glazing bar sashes. A canted bay window with a felted roof is on the right-hand side of the ground floor, featuring sashes and colonnettes at the corners, with timber panels below the ground-floor windows. Cellar windows with glazing bars are set into the base of the building. A doorcase with paired, clustered columns topped with crocket-like projections and a cornice is on the left. Above the four-panel door is a rectangular overlight. The exterior includes timber dentils below the cornice gutter and a course of saw-tooth brickwork above the second-floor window arches. Chimneys are located to the right in front of the ridge and are shared on the left. The interior has not been inspected. The basement area is enclosed by iron railings with cast finials, set into a stone coping.
