Description

This house, now part of a school, was built shortly before 1759 and underwent alterations around 1830, with a later extension in the 20th century. It features a stucco exterior, while the 20th-century addition is in exposed brick and has a slate roof.

The main part of the house is symmetrical, consisting of three storeys and five bays. The central bay projects slightly, and the facade includes two-storey bands and a modillion gutter cornice. The windows are sashed, with the second-floor windows being tripartite except for the central bay. The doorcase is adorned with Tuscan pilasters, frieze blocks decorated with paterae, and a blocking course topped with fleur-de-lys finials. The door itself has six raised and fielded panels, accompanied by a plain rectangular overlight.

To the left of the main facade, there are three additional bays. The ground floor of these bays is stuccoed, while the upper storeys are of exposed brick from the 20th century, featuring glazing bar sash windows. The left-hand bay on the ground floor contains a boarded door leading to a passageway. The roof is concealed behind a parapet, and there is a chimney on the right side.

The interior has not been inspected, but records indicate that it originally had a staircase with turned balusters, and most remaining fittings date from the mid-19th century.
