Description
Three houses, built between 1823 and 1828. The houses are constructed of brick with painted stone or stucco dressings, and have slate roofs. They are two storeys high, with cellars beneath. Each house has one bay. The windows are glazing bar sash windows; all, including those to the cellars, have painted rusticated lintels with fluted false keystones, although the first-floor window of number 5 has a brick flat arch. A sill band runs along the first-floor windows. Each house has a doorcase to the right, featuring pilasters, a frieze with incised Greek Fret ornament, corner bosses, and a pediment. The doors have six raised and fielded panels, and the overlights have geometrical glazing with central circles, diagonals, and margin panes. Timber gutters are supported by paired rectangular brackets. Shared chimneys are situated to the left and right of each house. The interiors were not inspected. The group value of the houses lies in their cohesive design and contribution to the architectural character of Mount Parade.
