Description

64 and 66 Walmgate are a pair of houses with shops, built around 1850. They are constructed from mottled red brick in Flemish bond and feature boxed guttering that returns at each end. The roofs are slate with brick stacks.

The exterior is three stories high with a four-window front. A carriage arch is flanked by shopfronts that are framed by plain pilasters, with moulded imposts beneath a dentilled cornice supported by bulbous carved brackets. Each shopfront has a glazed door set back to the right of an 8-pane shop window above panelled risers. The first and second floor windows are 12-pane sashes with painted stone sills and flat arches. The interior has not been inspected.
